Explore important news and announcements from the ICRM

The ICRM is pleased to announce we are going live with online-only testing starting on Tuesday, September 1.

After careful consideration, the Online Testing Taskforce has chosen to move away from in person testing with Pearson VUE to Prolydian’s online testing partner Examity. This change will create a more seamless process as the ICRM is already using Prolydian for their website, member management, application process, and test bank. This will streamline several of ICRM’s processes and will allow the ICRM to serve our candidates even better.

The move to online only testing will allow Candidates to take exams from the comfort of their own home or office through online, live proctoring. Please review our FAQ page to learn more information about the process.

Scheduling:
Scheduling for all online exams will be starting on Tuesday, August 18. Candidates will be receiving an email with instructions on how to log in and schedule their exams. If you are a candidate and you do not receive this email by Thursday, August 20, please contact the ICRM Business Office at icrm@caphill.com

Part 6 Exams:
With this new change to online testing, ICRM is also pleased to announce that we will be lengthening the windows to take Part 6 from two weeks to two months. This will provide more flexibility for candidates to schedule their Part 6 exam. If a candidate does not pass the Part 6 exam during one exam cycle, they must wait until the next exam cycle to be eligible to take it again. The first Part 6 online exam cycle will start on October 1 and go through November 30.

We hope you will join us in celebrating this move to online testing as we continue to work towards one of our strategic initiates to modernize our processes.  We thank you in advance for your patience and support as we make this transition together.

Thank you,
Paula Sutton, CRM, IGP, FAI

Candidates:

The ICRM is passing on information we received from our partner PearsonVue Testing Centers.

We are writing with the most recent updates to test delivery affected by COVID-19 across the globe. We continue to work hard to make decisions that will resume testing where possible while protecting the health and safety of our candidates and employees.

We continue to closely monitor the changing health and safety recommendations by state, province, and country and adjust our operations and capacity parameters accordingly.

At this time, we’re seeing many governments allowing businesses to reopen. The following adjustments for increased capacity at Pearson VUE-owned testing centers continue to be aligned to government guidance and allowances, and with appropriate health and safety measures in place.

In the United States, we are targeting to have our Pearson VUE-owned test centers (PPCs) operating at full, or near full capacity (dependent upon test center layout) by July 15th, or sooner if possible, updates can be found here: https://home.pearsonvue.com/coronavirus-update

*As we take steps to resume full, or near full capacity where permitted across our testing centers, please note that if a government reinstates strict or limiting measures for operation due to the volatility of COVID-19, we will once again adjust our testing capacity and/or operations accordingly. These adjustments may require additional cancellations of candidate appointments. We will continue to provide you with updates on any changes as necessary.

We’ve updated our Coronavirus Update Page to reflect the most recent additional guidance.

Please let me know if you have any questions about today’s update at icrm@caphill.com

Dear Members and Candidates,

The coronavirus (COVID-19) reality evolves and forces changes in all of our lives in many ways we could never have imagined. I’m reaching out to update you on what the ICRM is doing to offer support during these challenging times. Our main concern is the health and safety of our ICRM family and we continue to monitor developments associated with COVID-19 that impacts the ICRM, members and candidates.

Testing - The Board of Regents cancelled Part 6 testing for May as many Pearson Vue testing centers are currently closed with uncertain opening dates. We are receiving weekly updates on this situation as test centers start opening up in the US, Canada, and around the world. We will update you as we receive new information. If you are a current candidate and looking to test, you may find out information about test center operations in your local area by looking here: https://home.pearsonvue.com/coronavirus-update#country-specific, which is updated daily. In an effort to be responsive to the situation and grow technologically, the Board appointed a Task Force to explore online testing feasibility. Stay tuned.

CMPs - Information was sent to all members on April 22, with a listing of resources available to earn CMPs during this time.  There are many online resources available. Also, review other options to earn CMPs such as reporting on a work project, or authoring an article for a RIM publication. See the www.icrm.org for more information and the CMP announcement.

Dues - COVID-19 has impacted many businesses with cutbacks and closures. This has been especially difficult for members who find themselves underemployed or unemployed. Our hearts go out to them during this difficult time.  Please contact the ICRM office if you are having challenges in paying membership dues so we can work with you.

Website, Facebook, LinkedIn - We continue to update our website at www.icrm.org. Please check it out for the latest information on testing, CMPs, and general information. We are also on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Please follow us!

If you are experiencing any concerns regarding testing, expiring CMP cycle, or dues payments, please contact the ICRM office at admin@icrm.org and we will work with you.  These are difficult times and it is our wish to encourage and assist where we can.

The ICRM is here to help. We will get through this with the support of one another.  Stay well and respect the request for social distancing, but continue to reach out virtually until we can get together again. Resources are available. We can help guide you to those resources. We will continue to update you as we get more information.

Be safe, stay well and wash hands!

With so many cancellations of association meetings, conferences, and seminars we understand there are challenges right now in obtaining CMPs.

We would like to remind you that industry related webinars are eligible for CMPs.  Many are being offered to members for free or reduced costs. There are a number of ways to continue to earn CMP credits while we journey through the challenges of COVID-19.

Online options include:

In addition, the ICRM has volunteer opportunities that offer CMPs for your service.

  • Mentoring Committee – Seasoned and new CRM’s can coach candidates through the exam process. Please contact Jerry Lucente-Kirkpatrick at jerry.lucente-kirkpatrick@fda.hhs.gov for additional information.
  • Exam Development Committee – We are looking for assistant writers on Parts 1-5, as well as proof readers for Part 6 questions.  Please contact Caroline Walters, Regent for Exam Development at cw8de@virginia.edu.
  • Exam Preparation Product Committee – A new committee that will collaboratively work on the exam preparation product available to ARMA Chapters and presented at Pre-Conference Sessions.  The committee will also begin to explore online offerings for exam preparation presentations.  Need CRMs with knowledge of the current exams, preparation product presentation experience, and online training/presentation development skills.  Please contact Debra Gearhart at crmfai16@gmail.com.

CMP credits can also be obtained from:

  • Presenting/teaching webinars or webcasts related to RIM
  • Work related or RIM related projects – great time to write up what new steps or initiatives as a result of COVID-19
  • Local ARMA Chapters
  • Publish articles on RIM – maybe you have some extra time to write an article
  • IG GURU has a wealth of information and resources https://igguru.net

For more information on CMP maintenance see: https://www.icrm.org/index.php/certification_maintenance

Note: These are suggestions. Earning CMPs is not limited to what we have listed. If you have any questions, please contact our business office:  1-877-244-3128 or admin@icrm.org.

Thank you,
ICRM Board of Regents
April 22, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the ICRM Board has decided to CANCEL the Spring 2020 / May 2020 - Part 6 Exam Period

Pearson Vue Testing Centers have been closed, and the board felt strongly that our Candidates safety and security is paramount.  Most Candidates are also probably dealing with more pressing matters, than preparation for an exam.

Our next Part 6 testing period is in August and we are hopeful that this will proceed as scheduled. The ICRM Board will discuss this issue on a monthly basis and be updating our website. If anyone has already registered to take the exam in May, we will work to reschedule them.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support – be safe.

Dear Members and Candidates,

We are living in unprecedented times as a result of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.  Our concern is for the health and safety of our ICRM family and have been monitoring the developments continuously over the past few weeks. We encourage everyone to follow the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), state, and local guidelines for personal health and safety measures.

The ICRM is currently evaluating its scheduled participation in numerous events occurring in 2020 and due to the constantly changing situation, we are doing so in order of their occurrence and waiting on our partner associations to take the lead on their decisions and announcements.

The MER Conference is the first partner event scheduled for this year and its leadership has announced that it will be held the same dates in May but in a virtual format.  Messaging and related announcements are being developed.  Please visit the ICRM and MER websites frequently as more information is forthcoming.

If you have any questions about ICRM participation at any of the regularly scheduled conferences and exam prep pre-cons, please contact Rae Lynn Haliday, CRM, Chairman of the ICRM Strategic Alliance Committee, as she manages this process for the Institute. You can reach her at (314) 799-5132 or by email at haliday@stlzoo.org.

For Candidates:
Pearson Vue testing centers have closed for 30 days to protect the health and well-being of staff and exam takers. Pearson Vue has already sent communication to those registered to take an exam during this time.  In the meantime, we encourage you to continue studying for the exams.  There is a wealth of resources on the ICRM website.  You may want to consider our new Mentoring program and connect with other candidates on the new Mentoring LinkedIn page.  Contact Jerry Lucente-Kirkpatrick (jerrykirkpatrick@msn.com) for more information.  We will be monitoring those who may be negatively impacted by the closure of testing sites as their testing window draws near.

For Members:
We understand that ARMA has requested all in-person chapter events be canceled until further notice. Chapter meetings and seminars are a popular way for our members to earn CMP credits. We encourage you to look at the online training resources ARMA and other organizations have available.  You may also want to take this time to write up a work project for credit. We will be monitoring those who may be negatively impacted by the availability of educational venues as their anniversary window draws near.

Lastly, these are challenging times for each of us and our country.  The most important thing is to stay safe and healthy. Our world, as we knew it, has been turned upside down as we try to find ways to manage, understand, cope and just survive...let alone find toilet paper!  Please take care of yourself and your family first, this is what is most important. We will come through this strong with the support of one another.  Respect the request for social distancing, but this does not mean isolation, so reach out to each other virtually, to study for tests, or just check on a friend, colleague or family members and of course......wash hands, wash, hands, wash hands!

Be safe, stay well!
